Theatre District Mascot Olympics - Saturday 5th June
The annual Mascot Olympics is being held on Saturday 5
th June at the Theatre District with half the money raised being donated to the Spinal Injuries Association. At 10:45am Mascots and the audience can join in an Energie Fitness warm up, the games begin at 11am and will be officially opened by the Mayor of Milton Keynes. The Mascots will battle with various obstacles and games until the prize presentation at 4:15pm. For more information see:

Destination Dining in Queens Court is open to the public from Friday 11th June with the launch of Milton Keynes’ first YO! Sushi restaurant. The new development also includes Carluccios, Cafe Rouge and Nandos – all of which are opening over the next month. The development features extensive re-landscaping to give a welcoming, contemporary environment and the four restaurants have under-cover seating in winter garden style colonnades overlooking the revitalised central courtyard.

The Life and Times of Milton Keynes Gallery

Until th 27th June 2010 - Mark Leckey has collaborated with Martin McGeown, Director of Cabinet Gallery, London, to produce a series of new works based on the Gallery’s ten year history. The exhibition includes new film, sculpture, drawings and installations.

Scratch Nights
17th June - Film Club: Solaris directed by Andrei Tarkovsky
Solaris is about the futile attempt by cosmonauts to communicate with an alien life-form on the distant planet Solaris - an 'ocean' that is a single organism. As attempts to communicate become forced, the alien being experiments on the researchers by confronting them with their thoughts and memories. There will be an informal discussion afterwards. 24th June - A Live Performance by the Ladies of the Press
The artists Ana Èaviæ and Renée O'Drobinak have amassed an eclectic assortment of images and ephemera from the Milton Keynes Gallery archive, inspiring a participatory performance that invites participants to create a collage using press cuttings. The duo are champions of trash culture who like to encrust everything they do with a 'glittered kitsch'. See:

Road closures:
Saturday 05th - For the safety of the participants and the public the temporary closure of part of Overgate is required from its junction with Glebe Roundabout to its junction with Cricket Green Roundabout from 10.30am to 12.30pm each day. Whilst the road is closed the alternative route will be via Silbury Boulevard, Marlborough Gate and Avebury Boulevard and vice versa.
On Sunday 06th the 10k run will result in temporary closure of Pattison Lane, Woolstone will be closed to through traffic from its junction with H7 Chaffron Way to its junction with Marshall’s Lane from 10.30 to 12.30 on Sunday 6th June 2010.
