I have worked at Milton Keynes YMCA since January 1999 as their Chief Executive. The YMCA has many projects focused mainly on the needs of Young people, although we do have a number of other community building programmes too. The currently employ a staff team of approx 40. The current programme of activities includes:
• A Residential Project of 122 flats for single young people 
• A Hostel with 15 emergency night shelter beds
• The Luton Children & young people’s Right service
• Conference and Training facilities
• Connexions Contract for the Voluntary Youth Sector across the region.
• Northamptonshire Voluntary Youth Infrastructure Support
Additionally in the Chief Exec role I am a member of numerous strategic group and bodies all with the aim of furthering the live chance for young people most notable the following:
• The MK LAA Monitoring Group
• Trustee of MK Council for Voluntary Youth Services
• Chairperson of MK Council for Voluntary Organisations
• YMCA regional Executive Group
• The Central MK Partnership
• CMK Parish Council Member
• School Governor
• CMKP Development Committee
Prior to Milton Keynes I worked at the YMCA in Brixton for five years as Community Services Director and then as Deputy Chief Executive With a team of managers we ran children programmes, a Health and Fitness club, and a range of development programmes for 285 resident (mainly Refugees and Asylum seekers).
Before working for YMCA in a professional capacity I worked for Harlow District Council within their Leisure Services Directorate, managing their Grounds Maintenance Contract for and the council’s plant production nursery.
