MKCCM carry out research on behalf of its members' to gain an understanding of users views and perceptions of the City Centre.  See below brief details of research undertaken:

2010
Business Users Research
27 Central Milton Keynes located businesses were successfully canvassed through an on-line survey, summary findings included:

• 55% of businesses were quite satisfied with CMK as a business location and 47% very satisfied.
   
• Businesses felt very satisfied with being able to retain employees and quite satisfied with customer retention.
   
• 48% believe the best thing about being located in CMK is the ease of accessibility and movement around the city centre.

2009
CMK City Centre Health Check Report
113 users were successfully convassed via telephone interviews during November 2009.  Summary findings included:

• 98% of employees were satisfied with CMK as a place to work.  Those employees that have worked in other towns and City Centre prefer Milton Keynes.
   
• Employees felt the best thing about working in CMK was the good access to shops and services with the worst thing being lack of free or inexpensive parking.  (This was an open question no specific reference was made to parking at this in the point in the interview).
  
• The single most important improvement employees would like to see is cheaper parking with employee specific parking schemes and areas.

After8 Research Perceptions of CMK Report
5 focus groups were run covering Restaurant/ Diners, Youth (16-18), Families, Theatre-goers, Clubbers and Frontline Staff (Security, serving staff, managers) - each group was asked a series questions relating to CMK after8pm.  Summary findings identified the following areas as key issues for users:

• Public toilets
• City centre shuttle bus
• Better information and promotion of bus services
• More independent outlets
• Live music
• Activities for under 18s
• Skatepark (indoor)
• Better signposting for public transport
